The Aleppo Codex was the oldest extant Hebrew Masoretic manuscript of the Old Testament until many pages were lost during a riot in 1947. It is believed by many to be the most authoritative copy of the Hebrew Bible in the masorah tradition. The text was verified and vocalized by Aaron ben Asher, the last and most prominent member of the Masoretic grammarians from Tiberias. This edition contains some old photos of currently missing pages and a recovered fragment.
